A wooden board with sixty-four round holes, set upright in two wooden feet. Fill it with Bauspiel Lucent Cylinders and the board becomes a game of four in a row, a color pattern, a picture made of light.

Stand it in a window and the sun throws colored dots across the floor. Lift it out of its feet and lay it on a light table, and the whole grid glows from below.

The board is designed to pair with the Lucent Cylinders, 64-Piece Set, one cylinder for every hole. The cylinders are sold separately.

Bauspiel Bauspiel is Uwe Deckelmann and his daughter Hanna. 'Bauspiel' means 'building game' in German, and the line grows out of Friedrich Fröbel's kindergarten tradition of simple forms that ask nothing and allow everything. The wood is native European lime, alder and beech, with maple and cherry from sustainable cultivation, colored and oiled so the grain stays visible and the soul of the wood remains perceptible. The acrylic and gems come from Taiwan or China. Everything is quality-checked and shipped from Augsburg, Germany.
